Training Course “Laser Welding Fundamentals”

 

Training Objectives

  1. Participants will understand basic knowledge of welding processes and equipment
  2. Participants will understand fundamentals of materials and their behavior during welding
  3. Participants will understand fundamentals of laser welding process, equipment, and application of laser processing of materials
  4. Participants will understand the principles of quality assurance and quality control and related standards such as CQI-15 and ISO standards and their application to welded fabrication

Duration: 4 Days

Course Description

            This course provides basic understanding of fundamentals of welding process and materials behavior during welding, and fundamentals of laser welding, laser systems and laser materials process applications. This course emphasizes case study related to laser welding of metal components for different applications and important concepts that is necessary for engineers and technicians to apply in real industry case according to CQI-15 and international standards.

 

Course Outline

Day 1 Lecture; 09:00-16:00 hr.

  • Fundamentals of Welding Processes and Equipment
  • Fundamentals of Materials and their Behavior During Welding

Day 2 Lecture;  09:00-16:00 hr.

  • Basic Principles of Laser Welding Process
  • Types and Classifications of Industrial Laser Systems and Equipment
  • Applications of Laser Welding and Laser Materials Processing

Day 3 Lecture;  09:00-16:00 hr.

  • Introduction to quality assurance in welded fabrication
  • Quality control during manufacture and welding according to CQI-15 and international standards

Day 4 Workshop; 09:00-16:00 hr.

Laser Welding and Laser Processing Lab

Tour of Laser Systems Facilities and Laser Materials Processing Applications with some on-site case studies.

Morning Session (9-12 hr.) 

  • Types of Laser Applications and Laser Systems and Solutions Photonics Science Co. Works and Have Expertise on to provide and support solution to industries
  • Case Studies of Using Laser Applications for Materials Processing and Welding in Automotive Industry

Afternoon Session (13-16 hr.)

  • Tour of Laser Systems Facilities at Photonics Science and Demonstration of Laser Systems for course attendees with emphasis on different type of laser systems, technologies, add-on, applications, and examples of solutions to real industry.
  • Group discussion on how Nichidai Co. can utilize laser systems for improving their production process in the factory.
  • Group Photo and conclusion of the course
